Pointless but marginally interesting fact: The Shelby County Courthouse is designed after this one.

Also, the same architect (H.E. Meyer) apparently designed both the Licking County and Muskingum County courthouses. I picture a traveling courthouse architect, going town-to-town in the late 1800’s with his suitcase full of blueprints, medicine-show style.

How cool! You always have the most interesting information.

Muskingum is the Zanesville one, right? That may be my favorite. It looks like a giant wedding cake.

What breaks my heart about beautiful buildings like this is that the inside holds none of the original charm anymore. They really destroy the insides when they convert them into modern office spaces. I would love to have a home that looks of this style.
