Green & Rust

June 30, 2008

Plain City, Ohio

Todays’ hit is Last Train to Clarksville and the lesser known song is from their fifth album, The Birds, the Bees, and the Monkees. I’ll Be Back Upon My Feet is upbeat, bouncy fun. Sadly, it’s the only really worthwhile song on the album. They never even came close to achieving the excellence of Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones, Ltd. again.

For some reason as I look at this great old truck photo I hear the Sanford and Son theme song.

Cool group of photos lately, love the flowers and ornate detail…

Dang, I wish I’d thought of that. I’d have held off til I was done with the Monkees and posted it with Sanford and Son.

    Thanks! 🙂

I’m not one to geek out over cars or trucks, but this is truly beautiful. Partly it’s the beautifully dinged paint and general aging, but mostly it’s the chunky and bulbous curves. Kind of reminds me of an R. Crumb woman.

I was so delighted to find it. And that’s a really apt and interesting analogy.
