Sadly that looks like a WW2 bunker! Clearly the moment had passed for cutting edge crypt design by then…

Thanks for your lovely kind comments over at mine D – *sigh* our second Hallowe’en (!) x

The brickwork and the horizon line (including at the foot of the crypt) add a nice curve to the image. Gives it a nice sense of slight vertigo, which is what I expect hanging around a crypt will do to you…

    I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a brick crypt……..nice find!!

Really, this one is creepy looking. It makes me think of a fireplace just waiting to snatch people who are brave enough to walk up those stairs. The black on the brick really adds to the look.

I wonder if the Williams family is happy with how their crypt turned out. It just looks so grim.

Davy: You’re right about the bunker bit. The beginning of our second year as blog buddies, can you believe such time has passed? You got me through this last winter with your music postings … I shall count on you for the same this winter.

Shawn, I can see what you’re saying. The angles in the wall aren’t common.

    Thanks, Carrie!

    Richard: Ha!

Todd: I like the way you think.

Joe: If they weren’t in the brick business, I cannot imagine they were.

Oh you’d LOVE West Lawn. It’s got some amazing graves and tombs, a couple of really great names (a Merry Christmas Schumacher, born on December 25 and one that will be revealed later this month) and it’s right next door to the McKinley monument.
