Walked across Waterloo Bridge tonight at 5:30pm – light, with the sun pink-orange on the boats on the river, the Savoy and the Eye. Still cold, but a nip of something beginning in the air.

Davy, you dear. That was a lovely description. Truth be told, though we are still shivering along at 24-ish degrees, bundling up, blowing noses, taking meds, staring at piles of filthy, grungy snow at the end of its lifecycle, there are signs of change here too. For instance, today, we had sunlight! Glorious golden sunlight, all day no less. And the days are getting longer – why, some days I get all the way home before it gets dark – and almost exactly a year ago was our first 72 degree day!
