To New Starts!

January 2, 2011

See large

For most of the year, I’ve been an absentee landlady again, and that’s unfortunate, not only because I feel I’ve let friendships drift away, but also because I’ve had maybe 20 good ideas for posts in the last couple of weeks and none of them happened.

I have so much going on right now, so many fun and interesting things happening, so many ideas. This year, I’m going to pick up the pace with the posts here, aiming for one every other day. There won’t be a photo with every post, and some might have more than one. They won’t just be “pretty pictures of things I saw outside” as usual, they’ll more often be photos of whatever projects I’m working on. There will be many, many projects.

Winter is usually a gray, bitterly cold, joyless endurance test here in Ohio, and the months of January and February, while they do have some compensations, are the worst months of the year for me. I love rain, I love fall, only the depths of winter suck the life out of me. I’ve come up with a plan called the “winter morale project” to get me through the eight miserable weeks ahead. There’ll be drinking involved (well, sure) but also learning embroidery, more watercoloring and sketching, watching as much of the entire run of Doctor Who as possible, etc. You will see, as I mentioned above, pictorial proof of all these things.

This year, I’m also going to try to write more for the website my friend Brenda runs; at least one thing a month, even if it’s only the Star Trek recaps I’m already supposed to be doing. It’s called Geektress, if I hadn’t mentioned it before.

I’m feeling excited and creative right now, which is a refreshing way to begin a January.

By the way, I also intend to start showing back up at my friends’ places too. Look for me.

Oh Greer, I’m glad you haven’t given up on me yet. I doubt I’ll be back on Flickr anytime soon, but the blog’s going to be going great guns this year.

Old Who or new Who? If I had the time, I would try to watch what you’re watching when you’re watching.

    Miss you tons, sweetie!!

New Who up to now. I started with series 1, episode 1 and just last night finished up the last ep of series 5. However, I am going to spend the winter watching as much of the older stuff as possible. Starting with some Hartnell episodes this week!
