Strawberry Jam Cake

Strawberry jam cake. Basically, it’s just the 1-2-3-4 cake (my go-to recipe) with a heavy dollop of jam thrown in, and basic frosting (can’t remember where I got the recipe, sorry!) with a healthy dollop of jam mixed in, and then jam between the layers.
I was watching Marie Antoinette again and you know the scene with all the pretty little cakes? Yeah, this is twice now I’ve watched it and been seized with the need to go make a pink cake. Damn that movie.

I made a version of the 1-2-3-4 cake this weekend because of reading your post. I had to resist the urge to make it pink since it was for my son’s birthday but there is a pink cake in my future! I have Joy Of Cooking but there are so many cake recipes in there I had never made this one.
I’m sorry! Once again, I was sure I’d responded. I swear, I must think I post whatever response occurs in my head.
