The Frank H. Waters Tomb
Hello! Welcome to the 2011 Halloween Countdown! For 5 years now, I’ve posted something Halloween-related for the entire month of October, and for four of those years, I’ve been part of the official Countdown. If you’re interested in seeing what the other 215 (give or take) participants are doing for the Countdown, you can click on the logo on the right sidebar.
This year, I have cemetery and Halloween decor photos, music, playlists, crafts, recipes, and watercolors – which are not necessarily great, but are not necessarily not either – lined up for the month. And one special Halloween Day post involving a historic axe murder in the city in which I live.
Without further ado, let’s kick it off and get this party started!
Amazing relief sculpture on the door of the Frank H. Waters crypt in Akron’s Glendale Cemetery. It represents the daughter of the Waters family.
Betty Grable – Halloween
Zacherle – Halloween Hootenanny
You’re already off to a great start. Beautiful relief and photograph of the sculpt. Also two classic Halloween songs that should put anyone in the mood. You rock!
John, you are my biggest supporter. Thank you so much!
It begins.
I’m so glad you’re doing 31 Screams again.
I’ve been enjoying your countdown posts for (almost) as long as you’ve been posting them. Looking forward to another great month! 🙂
It’s good to see you again! I’m looking forward to your posts too, Miss Orange and Black. 🙂
It is beautiful and heart-rending at the same time to see the daughter at the crypt door.
Wonderful photo.
Wow, thank you very kindly.
It’s not a halloween countdown without your fantastic photos and fun posts! Have a ghouly good time this October!
Mayor Todd! I’ll be by Neato Coolville shortly. 🙂
Another year of fun! Can’t wait to see what you’ve got in store.
Thanks, Shawn – and for all your hard work putting this together again.
Was the Mooney mansion an axe murder? IS IT THE MOONEY MANSION! Wahalla is the one thing I really miss about Clintonville. GHOST HOUSE!
You’ll just have to wait and see.
Yes!
Oh, it’s lovely to see you again.
Woo hoo. I’m late to the party, but glad I made it. Love this shot! Thanks for the historical context too!
Welcome to you, without whom there’d be only half the cemetery pictures this year! 🙂
